The Near East Enterprises Museums hosted approximately 260 students from Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia Primary School; the Cyprus Car Museum, featuring sports cars and Batman and Transformers figures, attracted the most attention during the fun and discovery-filled trip!
The Near East Enterprises Museums, which host students from primary and secondary schools across the country throughout the year, offer students a learning environment immersed in art and culture. In this context, a group of approximately 260 people, consisting of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th year students and 18 teachers from Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia Primary School, visited the museums located on the campus of Near East University, one of the top 500 universities in the world. The students spent three days visiting the museums, engaging with art and culture, and experienced a productive trip enriched with knowledge and experience.

The students, who visited the Cyprus Car Museum and the Cyprus Modern Art Museum, had a fun and educational experience. Children who had the opportunity to closely examine works of art and vehicle collections thoroughly enjoyed the pleasure of learning through discovery.

Visiting the Cyprus Car Museum, the children had a delightful time examining the museum’s rich collection of automobiles, toys made from machine parts, model cars, pedal cars, and Batman and Transformers figures. In addition to the toys displayed in the museum, the “koi fish” pond also attracted the students’ attention, adding a unique touch to their visit. As part of the cultural tour, the children also visited the Cyprus Modern Art Museum, exploring different aspects of art by examining the extensive collection of works by three thousand artists. The exhibitions, ranging from ship models to glass objects, from sword collections to various art objects, were among the most intriguing parts of the trip.

Canan Gürkan: “Their observation skills are strengthened, and they get to know the country’s culture, history, and nature up close!”
Dr. Gürkan stated that learning through exploring contributes to children in many ways. Canan Gürkan, the principal of Suat Günsel Kyrenia College Primary School, stated, “These kinds of activities not only develop children’s artistic skills but also strengthen their observation abilities, allow them to get to know our culture closely, and support their communication skills. Our aim was to ensure that our students are immersed in art and to enable them to see firsthand what they are capable of. Through the Near Eastern Museums, children also had the opportunity to witness our art and historical heritage up close.” Gürkan noted that such events sometimes help children discover their artistic talents, saying, “It is very important for them to see the handiwork and the production process up close and to listen to the stories behind it. In this way, children understand the value of face-to-face communication while connecting with art.”
