Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College is a secondary education institution that provides education in line with the goals of each student in accordance with the programs and curricula of the TRNC Ministry of National Education. The school graduates its students by providing diplomas approved by the Ministry of Education.

Students are accepted to the school through an entrance exam. In the exam, students’ levels are determined and high-achieving students are given scholarships that continue throughout their education.

In the secondary school unit of Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College, all courses are given in English, except for education and culture courses. While students learn basic knowledge in all courses with a strong background, they are brought to higher levels of English both in terms of practice and grammar with the intensive hours of English lessons. Our college implements Pearson Edexcel in 6th, 7th and 8th grade Science and Mathematics courses, and Cambridge International secondary school programs (ILS) in Computer courses. At the end of the 8th grade, we test student progress with an external exam that comes from England and is evaluated there, and based on this result. guides students through high school education. At the same time, students’ interest in History and Geography is increased through Social Studies courses. In our school, every student is given the opportunity to choose a second foreign language as a compulsory course, such as German or French, in addition to English. Within the possibilities of full-time education, additional courses are organized to support field courses with the guidance of teachers. At Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College, 8th grade students can make choices about the programs they will follow in high school by having one-on-one meetings with expert teachers and guidance services in line with their goals at the end of the year.

In the GCE department, students are given the opportunity to choose a total of 5 different courses suitable for their interests among many alternative courses for the 9th and 10th grade levels, allowing them to continue their high school education. In addition to the 5 courses they choose, students also take compulsory Mathematics, English, Turkish and Physical Education courses.

In GCE 9th and 10th grades, students follow the IGCSE curriculum of exam platforms such as Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International and take the exams of the relevant courses at the end of the 10th grade. Students who have achieved a certain level of success in these exams follow programs suitable for Pearson Edexcel and Cambridge International GCE A-level exams to obtain certificates that they will use in their university applications in the 11th and 12th grades. In addition to GCE programs, which allow students to apply to many universities around the world, students can also take American-based exams such as TOEFL and SAT, and with the results they get, they can also apply to universities in the United States and Turkey.

Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College has managed to become the school that appeals to the widest spectrum in TRNC by implementing all programs in education both in the native language and in English, permitted by the TRNC Ministry of National Education. While graduate students have the opportunity to continue their education in many European countries, especially England and Turkey, and in America, many of our students can also continue their education at Cyprus universities. Another biggest advantage of the school is that it was established within the body of Near East University, the largest and most equipped university of TRNC. A student graduating from Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia College has a special quota and scholarship to enter many departments of the Near East University. Another important issue that can be considered among the privileges provided by the school is that our very successful students have the right to priority registration to the Faculty of Health Sciences departments with limited quotas.
